His great-granddaughter Jane told me family members say Charles had a disagreeable nature with an ill humor. Over the years, he worked as a clerk, laborer, superintendent at a cranberry bog, and farmer.

Charles died at age 84 in Plymouth on 17 July 1941 of arteriosclerosis. Hattie had died many years before him on 20 December 1914. She was just 53 and died of apoplexy.
Charles’ obituary from Old Colony Memorial newspaper: In Plymouth. July 17, (1941);
Charles F. Washburn, age 84, died this morning at his home on Stafford St. He was born in Plymouth, a son of Seth Washburn and Mary Washburn, both of Plymouth, and for many years had made his home in the Russell Mills section of town. He leaves 2 sons, Charles of Bridgewater and Arthur of Florida; and five daughters: Mrs. Hattie Yaeger of Kingston, Mrs. Carrie Ellis of Duxbury, Mrs. Annie Bryant, Mrs. Mildred Griffin, and Mrs. Marion Haverstock, all of Plymouth. Funeral Services will be held at home of daughter, Mrs. Marion Haverstock 7 Edes St. on Sat at 2:00pm. with Rev. John Shanley of the Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be at Chiltonville Cemetery.
Although his obituary states he is buried Chiltonville Cemetery, the cemetery department doesn’t have a record of that burial and there isn’t a stone there for him, although his son Charles is buried there.

Old Colony Memorial: "Mrs Hattie May, wife of Charles F. Washburn, superintendent of Manter's cranberry bog in the neighborhood of Chiltonville, died at their home in that part of the town on Sunday from apoplexy, aged 53 years. She was a native of this town and daughter of Josiah and Orelia (Nye) Benson. She is survived by several children besides her husband. The remains were brought to town and funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of her son, Charles F. Washburn, Jr., 9 Washington Street.
Thank you to Jane Weston for Charles' and Hattie’s obituaries.
Unfortunately I don't have any photos of Charles and Hattie.
Update: I found information on where Manter's Cranberry Bog is located in Plymouth and wrote about that here.
