He was supposed to have a brother Luke who was also a fisherman. Loved your article.....I have researched th...Hello,<br />Loved your article.....I have researched the events that brought my GGGrandfater and other family members down to the sea during the Gale off George's Bank in February 24-25 1862.<br />There names are on the Gloucster Cenotaph (and a private cenotaph in Newburyport, MA.)<br />I have tried to find out if there is any organization for the families of mariners that went down to the sea....but to no avail. I'm writing to see if you are aware of any other members. I have a great great Grandfather named Valentine Kelley whom I believe is the father of the Valentine Kelley mentioned in your blog. The family story I have is that the elder Valentine, a ships captain was lost at sea in 1882. He was married to Rosanna Eldrige. Do you have any information on him?
