I know who all the wives are and their connection to my family. Now for the other Silvanus Kelly also born in Oct. in 1767. I found his birth certificate and his parents marriage certificate.I found them looking up old Historical records. His parents were David and Thankful Crowell married on Dec.24,1765.This Silvanus Kelley married Hannah Thacher Feb.03,1791
I have that marriage certificate also. They had four sons also. Thacher 1794-Ebenezer1803-Isaiah-
1809-and of course Sylvanus born 1798. I have the information about their wives also. The Randall book has my Sylvanus as their father when in fact their father died at sea.I did talk to a Kelley down the Cape and she wanted me to send her my proof.Sh wanted to update her records.I am now moving on to my Cookson ancestors which one is burried on Copps Hill on the Freedom trail. This one should be easy for me as My great grandmother
Hattie Kelley married in to that line.I hope someone that had my same line reads your blog.
Thanks for the advice to keep searchingbecause after five years of trying to figure that out it did pay off.
JoanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3037326832482088445.post-15959898687982180982012-01-02T22:36:46.284-05:002012-01-02T22:36:46.284-05:00Hello: The way the Kelley's used the same firs...Hello: The way the Kelley's used the same first names, it is easy for people to be mis-identified. I had a few mistakes that took me some time to work out. I wonder if the reason Eunice Kelley Randall didn't write much on your Sylvanus is because he moved out of state. Maybe finding some additional records on the two Silvanus/Sylvanus's such as probate records would help? I will let you know if I find anything. I am pretty new to reading this blog ...Hello Chris,
I am pretty new to reading this blog and not great on the computer. Your story really interested me. It seem that my 4th great grandfather Jeremiah Kelly 's father Sylvanus was also the son of Eleazer O'Kelley and Hannah Baker.I can't seem to get to the bottom of this problem. My grandfathers brother Shubeal Kelley was bornin Hyannis Barnstable Ma in 1797 and my Jeremiah [1807] and Sylvanus [1794] was born in Maine. I have a complete family burried in Maine of Kelley's. My Sylvanus Kelley was born Oct 29, 1764 in Dennis and must have married there because their first child was born there also.I also have a family tree that shows this. I have been searching for this answer for over 5 years. I run into a stone wall because of Hannah Thacher. Her name shows up as his wife and states he died at sea 1810. I went to the cape last year and bought the Randal book and it had very little of Sylvanus life.I belive Hannah Thacher did marry a Silvanus {My grandfather was spelled Sylvanus] but he was born 1767 and they did have three boys also. Thacher,Ebenezer and Silvanus born 1794]You, seem to have my same line and may have insight to what happened.
My e-mail is feaf50@aol.com. I would love to have some ending to this family tree.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
